St. Teresa Education Centre
STEC offers a student-centered Pre-Primary and Primary Education Curriculum. The school offers the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports curriculum and promotes skills for early years, experiential learning, and connection with the environment. The curriculum is a blend of Montessori methods and Region Emelia approach.
Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the highly trained teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process
The Reggio Emilia approach is an educational philosophy and pedagogy focused on preschool and primary education. This approach is a student-centered and constructivist self-guided curriculum that uses self-directed, experiential learning in relationship-driven environments. The programme is based on the principles of respect, responsibility and community through exploration, discovery and play.
