Not all students and families who aspire to learn at STEC will make it because of the required fees for running the school activities. These include children of single mothers and those from families living in disadvantaged social-economic status. The school has been approached by such parents and children and in one year of our establishment the school already gives support to 2 students by subsiding or offering full scholarships to some students and you could get involved by contributing to paying school fees for such a student.
Mentor students
Mentoring is an important element of STEC curriculum to achieve its strategy for family and community participation. All children look up to adult role models, you can get involved through games, children’s motivation talks, and other school events.
Volunteer at school activities/share your time
STEC appreciated and enjoys support from all well-wishers and volunteers, this ranges from taking time off to work at STEC as a volunteer, finding time to read with and for the children, engaging in capacity-building activities for staff, and participating in children’s games and science fairs.
Be a member of the school Board
All school Board Members are volunteers, they are established in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Sports guidelines for the School Management Committees. Each member serves on the school board for a period of 2 years and this is renewable.
Donate School Supplies
Children go to school not only to learn subjects but also learn new skills including social skills. The skills and knowledge that a child learns from school will help them now and later in life as they mature and start work.
Donate School Supplies and out and indoor games
STEC continues to do more and more for students and to enable a child-centered learning environment. You can donate basic school supplies ranging from colored pencils, pens, crayons, writing books, and age-appropriate and context-specific story books among others. The school also needs and receives indoor and outdoor games.
